Divisional Committee Requirements for Promotion or Appointment to Tenure At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, individual departments submit tenure recommendations for faculty members to their respective divisional executive committees. These divisional committees in the physical sciences , biological sciences, social sciences and the humanities establish written criteria and standards that will be used in making the final recommendations for the granting of tenure. These criteria are governed by state statute and the rules of the University of Wisconsin.
