Becoming A Fellow

[ Becoming A Fellow | Current Fellows | Getting Involved ]

The Teaching Academy is currently accepting nominations for Fellows. Fellows are faculty or academic staff who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and have a committment to improving teaching and learning across campus. The process of nomination can be initiated by the nominee or by colleagues, students/participants, department chair, dean, director, or a divisional committee.

The Teaching Academy welcomes nominations that reflect a wide variety of teaching styles and contributions. Teaching, in its broadest definition, engages students in a variety of contexts: lectures, demonstrations, seminar discussions, supervised clinical experience, professional workshops, and university outreach. We are particularly interested to know of the candidate's interest in supporting educational excellence on this campus and beyond.

Application/Nomination materials should be sufficiently detailed to allow judgment of excellence, but sufficiently brief to avoid undue burden for the nominee and selection committee. The maximum length of the application is 12 pages typed and double spaced, including selective, brief attachments.

Nominations are reviewed only during the Spring semester.

Nomination materials missing any requested information will be returned unreviewed.

Completed applications are due January 31, 2009. Please send applications to:
