U-CLaSS Chat: Conflict and Controversy in Classroom Conversations
When: Thursday, December 8, 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Where: Chadbourne Main Lounge
What: U-CLaSS chats bring students and faculty together to talk about shared challenges and opportunities in teaching & learning. Chats are designed to allow students to share their experiences and perspectives with faculty. Faculty play a listening role, hearing from students about what works and doesn’t work both inside the classroom and beyond.
This U-CLaSS chat will focus on challenging classroom conversations. Instructors often find it difficult to facilitate discussions around controversial topics – just think of classroom conversations following the presidential election. We want to hear what you think works and doesn’t work in those conversations. Your suggestions will be published on the UW-Madison Teaching Academy website and shared with instructors across the campus, anonymously of course.
**U-CLaSS is an initiative of the UW Teaching Academy. This chat is co-sponsored by Chadbourne Residential College**
