Open to all! Register now. Fall in Madison is absolutely beautiful, and the Teaching Academy celebrates this time of year in Wisconsin with a Retreat to gather for a morning of conversations on a relevant theme in higher education teaching and learning. These topics help to prepare instructors and faculty for another successful year with undergraduate students and allow campus educators to discuss new updates in undergraduate education.

The Teaching Academy will be hosting the 2021 Fall retreat on Friday, October 1st from 9 – 11am.  This fully virtual event is free, and registration is unlimited.  Please feel free to share!

The theme of this Fall’s retreat will be Ableism, Disability, and Inclusive Practices. The event will feature a panel discussion with both University of Wisconsin-Madison students and expert practitioners, as well as opportunities to connect and discuss with colleagues from across campus. We are looking forward to learning with our panelists:

  • Ruben Mota, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator, Office of Compliance
  • Patty Cisneros Prevo, Student Life Coordinator for Diversity & Inclusion, Wisconsin School of Business
  • Britt Marie Ziedler, Founder and Co-Director, Graduate and Professional Students with Disabilities Initiative, PhD Candidate, Dept. of Curriculum and Instruction
  • Undergraduate panelists from the Student Organization: Advocating for Differing Abilities
